Qu'est-ce que l'impression UV DTF?

What is UV DTF printing?

UV DTF (Direct to Film) printing is a relatively new digital printing technique that combines the advantages of traditional DTF printing with UV ink technology. Its main advantage is that it is a cold stamping method which makes the marking compatible on all materials. The other advantage is that this printing technique makes it possible to mark cylindrical surfaces that are very difficult to mark without having to invest in the necessary equipment.

This is how UV DTF printing works:

How UV DTF works

  • Film printing : Just as with traditional DTF printing, the design is first mirror printed on a special transparent film using UV inks.

  • Powder Application : After the image is printed, an adhesive powder is applied to the printed side of the film. This powder helps transfer and set the ink to the final substrate.

  • UV Curing : The ink is then exposed to UV light for instant curing. Unlike traditional inks which require drying or baking, UV inks cure almost immediately when exposed to UV light, making the process faster and more efficient. Your print transfers are then ready to be applied.

  • Transfer : The film is then transferred to the desired substrate (such as textile, metal, plastic, etc.). Under pressure, the image is permanently transferred to the substrate.

Advantages of UV DTF marking

  • Increased marking possibilities : This technique can be used on a wide variety of materials, including difficult substrates like metal or rigid plastic because you no longer need to heat press your objects or textiles to hold your print transfer. You can also mark cylindrical surfaces without investing in specific equipment.
  • Durability : UV inks are known for their durability and resistance to outdoor elements like water, sun and scratches.
  • Print quality : UV inks provide very high quality printing with vivid colors and precise details.
  • Eco-Friendly : UV inks are often less harmful to the environment than traditional solvents used in other forms of printing.

Do you want to test this new printing technology without having to invest thousands of euros in a dedicated printer? You can subcontract us with the printing of the supports which you will only have to place on your objects or textiles. Come and entrust us with the printing of your UV DTF transfers.
